this is an outstanding helmet. I deducted one star simply because I needed to purchase a 3rd party foam fit kit (also from Amazon) to fill in some of the non-vented empty spaces and get the helmet to fit properly.I am a daily commuter with a roughly 20-mile round trip, all on city streets. I didn't understand it at the time but the sunshade/ballcap bill of the helmet has turned out to be a real star. I used it (and several bits of gorilla tape) to affix a rear view mirror-on-a-wire in a way I never could have done if I had been trying to affix to the helmet itself. The chinstrap buckle is convenient to adjust and attach/detach. Not something to take for granted if you are taking it on and off all the time. The helmet is very comfortable and that same chinstrap is not noticeable to me as I ride. Another thing not to take for granted. As to protection I won't know until I bash against something but it certainly seems well made and if Bell doesn't know how to make a safe helmet nobody does. I did very much like the helmet's protection of the back and rear of the head. The clip on the back holds a Blackburn Twofer light securely and in perfect position like it was made just for it, which it may have been since Bell sells them on their web site. Keeping a light high up to the rear like that is a BIG safety bonus in an urban setting.Lots of little thoughtful touches on this helmet, when you add them up. If Bell could include - or sell - a dedicated fit kit for those who need or want them this helmet would be perfect. As it is, its still very much worth the money and then someI just got this a few days ago and I'm quite impressed. As a motorcyclist in the past, a Bell Helmet was instrumental in saving my bacon during an accident years ago so it was going to be my first choice. I previously had a Bell for my bicycle riding and after 10 years I decided ti replace it. (I know. I waited probably way too long.) I scoured the net and watched innumerable videos about helmets on You Tube to get a feel for what might be available. While there are a lot of choices out there and after a couple of tries and returns this was the final choice. My wife had the final say when she saw the bright lime green and thought that would add to my "visibility factor". I live in southern California's coastal region and I thought the Black color might be a problem but I decided to try it anyway. No need to worry though, I rode the other day in 67 degree weather and my head actually got cold. That's how good the ventilation is.About the helmet: I have a 23 1/4" diameter head and a couple I had tried were too small and I was afraid this would be too. WRONG. Thank goodness this puppy is extremely adjustable. I got a good fit by doing the adjustments listed in the owner's manual. I gotta say though, whoever edits and publishes it ought to learn how to proof read/translate. Action 3 refers to picture for action 5, etc. I love the visor, even though I wasn't sure the soft visor would be valuable. It is and is better than the hard visor I had on my previous helmet for blocking the sun when riding into it.I don't think you could go wrong with this choice. I'm happy with it.I really love this helmet. It is the perfect style and size for me. I love the matte black, matches my matte black ebike perfectly. It’s so extremely lightweight and comfortable that I often forget it’s on my head! I love the detachable bill, though I do wish it was made with slightly better quality. It’s a great concept, but seems a bit flimsy when you compare it to the rest of the helmet.I measured my head at 55.5 cm, so I took a chance and ordered the small (which fits up to 56cm.) It fits me perfectly with the dial expanded out all the way, but if you are on the cusp of a size and prefer the option of adjusting with the dial, then you might want to consider ordering the next size up.The thin nylon chin strap is nice, I hate when they are too bulky. And the clasp is a new design for me, but I really like the fact that I can make micro adjustments on the fly if I need to. Overall, amazing helmet. I’ll be ordering another if something happens to this one.Did not come with clear directions on how to adjust straps or suspension. Has extra padding with no directions on where it goes or how to change it. It is lightweight and comfortable. Vents keep my head cool. Very drab flat color. Is it acceptable? Yes. Is it worth $60+, NO!I just got a new electric longboard and knew that I needed a helmet but all of the skateboard helmets were ugly and the bike helmets were too sporty. I found this helmet and it was a cross between the two and it was perfect. The ventilation is great and it is decently comfortable. I do think that there could be a little more pads in the front because I have noticed that when I chew gum, it hurts my temples a little bit. Other than that, it is the best looking helmet you can get for the price I would say. This helmet is pretty cool; it definitely looks a lot cooler than the "Darth Vader" helmet I reviewed before. It's not cool literally, though: despite all of the vents, it is a hot helmet that does not cool that well. It'd be great for winter riding for that very reason, though. The bill is non-removable, which makes washing it a bit of a challenge. Twist fit mechanism on the back is precise and comfortable. The best thing, though, is the light clip; for me, a small clip-on action camera on the back is the perfect way to let overzealous drivers know "I've got my eye on you." Probably my favorite commuter helmet yet.Note to Bell: MAKE IT COOLER. That's my only complaint.
