Worth the extra ten bucks or so from the knock off brands. Bell are the best, been skating my whole life and love these helmets, now bought them for my kids. Tried the knockoff Amazon brand “outdoor something” and they were junk and made my kid look like space balls. These bell helmets are solid, made really well and look great too.It’s a great helmet. I just returned so I could get an S1 Lifer. I was specifically needing a helmet for roller derby and I just felt I should stick to a well known derby brand.LOVE this helmet. I am a life-long skateboarder, and I've tried all the major "skate" brand helmets (Pro-Tec, Triple 8, S-one, etc.), and none come close to the Bell Local, at least for me. The Bell Local has that "fit dial" on the back, which allows you get a perfect fit to your head. This makes it (a) so much more comfortable to wear, and (b) provides for a better fit, and that means better protection. I actually have two of these. One for when I skate bigger sized transition, and one for riding my bike around in the city. Neither has let me down. If you are looking for a "skate" style helmet, give the Bell Local a *hard* look.The helmet is very well put together and the adjustable head band should be reason enough to buy it alone. Like most of the better skate helmets it has a thick plastic shell as opposed to the paper thin plastic of a bicycle helmet.If you are shopping by price the helmet is approximately $15 more expensive than equivalent helmets, however please remember part of that cost it’s for the Nitro Circus branding and the other part of that cost is for improved padding and rivets.Additionally you should remember that as certification levels go up ventilation goes down. There are some helmets that do have more ventilation but the price range is in the plus $150 level.I really haven’t noticed too much of a difference between this Helmet and my old Giro helmet as far as heat dissipation. The one thing I have notice between this and my old Giro helmet is that this helmet doesn’t slip or move, it stays put and that is 80% of safety the day you have the fall.I really liked that I could get on Amazon UK and find stuff we don’t have in the states. Then it was so awesome I could use my log in info from the US Amazon and log right into the UK Amazon. And shop till my heart was content!Este casco es excelente.
