I have had this bell for more than six years now - bought in June 2016. I have moved it to two different offices since then. Working at home now it has entered the realm of "kid's toy" for my children. It still works and looks like new. This is with at one time daily-use in a business and now with 3/7/10 year olds playing with it (sometimes roughly) as well as it being knocked from table to floor height on occasion.I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again if I ever needed to - I just also can't imagine ever needing to when this one will likely outlast me.Worked perfectly for the prop neededIt is for a bunco group. We needed something not too loud but not to soft for everyone to hear this bell will work .I ring the bell when I finish a work task. It sits unobtrusively on my desk and gives a clear, triumphant “ding!” Whatever works. Is it weird that I consider a bell “cute?” Lol this gets the job done, it’s loud enough to hear even if you’re 20 feet away, I decided to get this for my business and it’s easy for customers to spot and push when they need service. Kids love it! I also used it when I was sick and needed to get my family’s attention haha, before I would whistle and clap, but this was helpful !Hey it's a bell.. Ring for service and service you shall receive.. I needed a bell for training newish puppy's to signal when they wanted to go outside. I was worried I would be buying one of thoese bells that dosent work every time. But so far I haven't had to reset the striker pin. Weeks of rings and no issues. Well no issues related to the bell and its operation anyway.. The dogs on the other hand are a entirely different story.. But back to the bell;)It's base feels sturdy, has a nice shine to the finish, not to light weight but not to heavy either. It feels just like it should. So I'm happy with the performance, the only issue I experienced was in its shipping. One little bubble air pack for a box 5 times the size of the bell:) it's not fine china. Or anything to breakable but...Needed an old fashioned bell for games and this fit the bill perfectly!I purchased this bell to use with teaching Daily 5 in my second grade classroom. After each work session, the entire class knows to gather back at the rug when they hear the bell. I find that it's fun to have a few different sounds to use throughout the year...a chime, train whistle, this bell, etc. When I saw a call bell for less than $1 at a thrift store, I thought maybe I shouldn't have got one off Amazon, but I'm glad I did. This bell is heavier and very well-constructed. The sound is plenty loud and resonates for a little bit. I'm very happy with the quality for what I paid and am sure it will last forever! Besides being great for noisy classrooms, this bell would be perfect for stores, games, pet training, or plenty of other situations.
